Ashley Oakes, LCSW-C, CEO and founder of RO Consulting LLC. RO Consulting, specializes in adult felony mitigation and client advocacy support where we integrate social work theoretical frameworks and treatment modalities to criminal law.

As a social work clinician, Ashley  served the most vulnerable populations in Baltimore City in primary care settings, and have worked tirelessly to advance health equity through assessment of social determents of health and using best practice to resolve barriers to care, provide client advocacy, and linkage to community resources.

In 2020, Ashley embarked on a new social work opportunity with the Maryland Office of The Public Defender in Baltimore City’s Felony Division as a clinical social worker. I became fascinated by how the social work impact social work has on court proceedings, by sharing the client’s story through writing mitigation reports. At MOPD I grew a  passion for helping those indigent clients through their trauma by utilizing trauma informed care. I also helped client’s find a voice and share their life experiences with the court through mitigation report writing and founded RO Consulting, LLC.

Today, RO Consulting continues its business partnership with MOPD and has expanded its business partnerships to Criminal Defense Attorneys in Maryland. At RO Consulting, we believe that all clients within the legal and criminal justice system deserves quality support, advocacy, and for the court to view the client beyond their charges and take their story into consideration.
